9 Days Archeological Tour in Crete

Day 1: Arrival in Heraklion

Arrive in Heraklion and transfer to your hotel. Enjoy an evening stroll through the city and a welcome dinner with local cuisine.

Day 2: Knossos Palace & Heraklion Archaeological Museum

Visit the Knossos Palace, the center of Minoan civilization. Later, explore the Heraklion Archaeological Museum, housing artifacts from the Minoan period.

Day 3: Phaistos Palace & Gortyna

Travel to southern Crete to visit the Phaistos Palace, an impressive Minoan site. Continue to Gortyna, with its Roman ruins and the famous Law Code inscribed in stone.

Day 4: Malia Palace & Dicti Cave at Lassithi plateau

Explore the Malia Palace, another key Minoan site. Then visit the magnificent Dikti cave at Lassithi plateau, where according to the ancient myth, Zeus was born.

Day 5: Zakros Palace & Ancient Itanos

Head east to Zakros Palace, the smallest of the four major Minoan palaces. Nearby, explore the ruins of Ancient Itanos, overlooking the stunning coastline.

Day 6: Aptera and Chania Archaeological Museum

Visit Aptera, a significant ancient city with Greek and Roman ruins. In Chania, tour the Archaeological Museum, which exhibits artifacts from western Crete.

Day 7: Eleutherna & Arkadi Monastery

Discover Ancient Eleutherna, a newly excavated site showcasing artifacts from the Minoan, Classical, and Hellenistic periods. Then visit the historic Arkadi Monastery, known for its role in Cretan resistance.

Day 8: Ancient Lato & Agios Nikolaos Museum

Explore Ancient Lato, one of Crete's best-preserved Dorian cities. End the day at the Archaeological Museum of Agios Nikolaos, which houses finds from eastern Crete.

Day 9: Departure

Spend a relaxed morning in Heraklion, with optional time for shopping or visiting a local market before transferring to the airport for departure.
