Crete – Santorini
Day 1: Arrival in Crete and transfer to the hotel.
Day 2: A full day excursion to the Minoan Palace of Knossos, the Archeological Museum of Heraklion and city sightseeing. Return to the hotel.
Day 3: Continuing the theme of the magnificent legacy of the Minoans, we visit the Palace of Phaistos, Gortys a classical and Roman city complements of the historical story whilst a swim at Matala completes the day.
Day 4: Excursion to West Crete. You will visit the towns of Rethymno and Chania, which are famous for their interesting architecture from Turkish and Venetian time. Both towns are lovely with their narrow streets, romantic gardens and nice ports with the little fisher boats.
Day 5: Travel north of Crete, by boat, to the magical island of Santorini and transfer to our second hotel of the tour.
Day 6: A full day excursion on the island including a tour of the extensive and thought provoking remains of the Minoan town of Akrotiri – buried in the ash of the volcanic eruption of 1630BC . We also visit the highest point of the island which is famous for super views and its isolated monastery. We continue for the sunset from the northern village of Oia.
Day 7: Early morning departure of boat-trip of a lifetime around the Caldera of the ancient volcano then returning by cable-car up to the town of Fira. After lunch the groups returns to Crete by boat. Arrival in Crete and transfer to the hotel.
Day 8: Transfer from the hotel to the airport for departure.
